Project Description

WESTMEAD STATION (SOUTH) PRECINCT
Heritage Study
Client: Cumberland Council
Commissioned: 2017
Overview

The Westmead Station (South) Precinct Heritage Study was commissioned to provide the Cumberland Council with an overview of the heritage and history of the study area, in order to guide the potential future redevelopment of the precinct. The study was to also give an overview of the key changes to the Westmead Station (South) Precinct.

Our Involvement

The heritage study completed by City Plan Heritage provided an historical analysis of the Westmead Station (South) Precinct through site inspections, historical research and documentation analysis. As a result of the study, new potential heritage items and heritage conservation areas were recommended for listing on Schedule 5 of the Holroyd Local Environmental Plan 2013. In addition, City Plan Heritage recommended an extension to the existing Toohey’s Palm Estate heritage conservation area, to ensure adjacent properties of a similar character were appropriately preserved and recognised for their heritage value.
