Since 1865, the Republic hotel has hugged the corner of Pitt and Bridge Streets in the heart of the Sydney CBD. As the city’s commercial centre has expanded around it, the Republic has grown from a single storey pub to a 4 level landmark including Taylor’s Rooftop Bar.
Alterations to the existing licensed hotel to include a new ramp at the entry door, accessible toilet, relocation of the stairs between the ground and first floors, replace the gaming area with a new lounge and relocation of the rooftop bar.
City Plan was engaged to provide certification services for all stages of the development including:
- Part ground floor demolition; relocation of stairs between ground and first floor;
- Ground floor balance of work
- Remainder of works including rooftop bar area.
