Overview

A Structure Plan has been prepared for the Melrose Park South Precinct to guide its transformation from an industrial to a high-density mixed-use precinct. The Plan is currently being assessed by the City of Parramatta Council.

Development

The structure plan will provide high-level strategic principles to guide future Planning Proposals within the precinct. It identifies indicative locations for new infrastructure such as new open space and roads to support the urban renewal. It also considers the indicative location of the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2, which is currently proposed to run through Melrose Park. Once complete, the precinct could accommodate 3,500 to 4,000 dwellings, as well as 10,000 sqm of non-residential floor space and new public parks.

Our Involvement

City Plan was engaged by Holdmark Property Group and Goodman Property Services, to prepare a Structure Plan for the Melrose Park South Precinct. City Plan provided strategic planning advice, assisted with the preparation of the structure plan and project managed the process and the team of sub consultants. City Plan also lead the engagement with Parramatta Council and key stakeholders.
