Project Description

HYDE PARK CAFE
Public Amenities
Client: City of Sydney Council
Value: $1.2 Million
Overview

Hyde Park is Australia’s oldest park.
The new open plan cafe to the south of the park precinct replaced the existing cafe extension to Museum Station’s south west entrance and aims to compliment the existing historic building and enhance the park’s amenity.

Development

The 90-seat, glass fronted cafe offers improved park and city views and includes a new paved lobby with easy access to the park. The cafe also has accessible unisex toilet facilities – one of which will be accessible to park users.
A new accessible railway station entrance / lobby area is also an inclusion to the building. The finished structure is surrounded by new landscaping work to compliment the existing park.

Our Involvement

City Plan was engaged to provide Certification Services for all stages of the development including:

  • Demolition works, excavation, inground services (electrical/hydraulic) & concrete slab on ground level
  • Construction of new structure with accessible toilets and new accessible station lobby
  • Landscaping & overall fitout
