Overview

The Long Gallery opened in 1854 as the first purpose-built museum exhibition space in Australia. The conservation and refurbishment works carried out in 2017 have restored the grandeur and richness of the space as an architectural display cabinet for our nation’s history, people and culture.

Development

Stage 1 – Refurbishment works to the Long Gallery located within the Australian Museum.
Stage 2 – Removal of existing internal mechanical plant from within the roof of the Australian Museum (Barnet Wing) to be replaced with installation of two new external air-handling units.

Our Involvement

City Plan had been engaged on to provide Certification Services for all stages of the development. We were proud to be part of the team for this award winning project (stage 1) and the subsequent stage 2 works.
