Overview

Uniting Mayflower in Westmead is designed to be an inclusive, learning and caring community which brings together retirement living, in-home care and assisted living aged care options in a convenient central Western Sydney location. The new development also includes a community hub with an early learning centre, seniors gym, library, hair and beauty salon, cafe and chapel. The precinct is set within generous gardens and pubic outdoor spaces.

Development

Staged development involving the demolition of existing structures, tree removal & construction of 5 buildings containing a residential aged care facility and independent living units pursuant to State Environmental Planning Policy (Housing for Seniors or People with a Disability) 2004, a child care centre, ancillary services with associated basement car parking, drainage and landscaping works.
Stage 1 – Demolition and construction of the southern part of the site. Once constructed, Stage 1 will include Block A and Block B with the basement level below.

Our Involvement

Our team was engaged as the Principal Certifying Authority and to provide assessment of performance solutions, building regulations advice and certification services for all stages of the development including:

  • Demolition, bulk excavation & shoring
  • Basement to ground floor slab & hydraulic services
  • Structure and services above the slab for Blocks A & B
  • Updates to fire safety certificate and FER
  • Fitout of childcare centre
