To address the impact of COVID-19, two new Ministerial Orders have been issued under the Covid-19 Legislation Amendment (Emergency Measures) Act 2020. The orders provide flexibility for businesses to respond to changing patterns of demand and allow the community increased access to necessary goods, whilst still practicing social distancing.
Retail premises such as supermarkets and pharmacies can now trade, operate and remove waste 24 hours a day notwithstanding the restrictions included in the conditions of their development consent.
To support people working from home, the operating hours and number of people working in home businesses and home industries have been expanded from 2 to 5.
