New appointments for our planning team to start the financial year.

The start of the new financial year coincides with a significant period of growth for our planning team.

This week we are extremely excited to be welcoming Helen Deegan as a Director, and Rebecca Gordon and Sonny Embleton as Senior Associates. Each brings with them a wealth of experience and expertise that seamlessly aligns with our existing culture and complements the skills in the City Plan Team. Ashleigh Coombes (Project Planner) will be joining us later in the month when she returns from holidaying in Europe. UNSW Planning students Rebecca O’Donnell and Justin Tse will continue their work placements with us. Space is currently scarce in our Sussex Street office, so Helen will be managing our new Edgecliff Office as an interim measure until our Sydney office expansion is complete.

We look forward to welcoming Tina Christy as Associate Director in mid July. Tina brings a wealth of local government knowledge and experience after 17 years at Georges River (previously Hurstville) Council.

We have also recently welcomed Theo Wilkinson and Lucy Broadwell to our Sydney Office. Both Theo and Lucy are broadening our horizons, bringing with them knowledge of the UK planning system and applying it to local challenges.

This week in our Newcastle Office, Jessica Veenhuyzen joins our thriving team as a Project Planner following completion of her Masters of Urban Planning & Environment at RMIT. Jess has been undertaking her work placement with us for the last 3 months, so she is no stranger to the team. Jess’ appointment follows closely after we welcomed Murray Blackburn-Smith as Director. This means that Adam Kennedy is no longer the new guy! Stay tuned for news of our new Newcastle office which will be opening soon.

This period of growth brings our total number of qualified professional planners to 34, making us one of the largest specialist planning firms in NSW.
