City Plan is very excited to share that the City of Sydney Local Planning Panel has granted consent for the construction of the “bara Monument for the Eora”, a public art sculpture by the Aboriginal artist Judy Watson, within the Tarpeian Lawn of the Royal Botanic Gardens. The Heritage Council of NSW, the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Botanic Gardens were in support of the application.
City Plan provided heritage and planning services for the project and we congratulate the City of Sydney project team on achieving a significant milestone for the realisation of the bara to celebrate the First Peoples of Sydney, the traditional custodians of Gadigal Country.
