We are pleased to have been part of the team that recently secured development consent for Cranbrook Care for the expansion of their existing Lansdowne Gardens residential aged care facility. The development application related to the demolition of existing dwelling houses at 54 and 58 Wycombe Road, the restoration of the existing heritage item at 56 Wycombe Road and the expansion of the existing facility to provide 83 beds within a three and four storey building.
Last week the Sydney North Planning Panel considered and approved the development.
Prior to the DA submission, we successfully sought and obtained an LGA-wide exemption for North Sydney from the moratorium on aged care being permissible in areas located in heritage conservation areas in Greater Sydney Region under State Environmental Planning Policy (Housing for Seniors or People with a Disability) 2004.
The development will make a vitally important contribution to providing much-needed aged care places in North Sydney given the LGA is identified as having a current shortfall of 312 aged care places.
We have enjoyed working with Cranbrook Care, Nash Project Management and Boffa Robertson Group and we look forward to seeing this high-quality development come to life in the coming months!
