Members of our planning team had an enjoyable evening attending the Urban Taskforce’s ‘Twilight Tour’ of The Exchange by developer Lendlease last night.
Attendees enjoyed a tour of the spiralling, light-filled ‘hive’ designed by world-renowned Japanese architects Kengo Kuma and Associates.
The building is an iconic civic space in the heart of Darling Square and will comprise a state of the art City of Sydney library, childcare facility, mezzanine restaurant, rooftop restaurant and bar and ground market food hall.
We learned about the design, development and construction of this project and it was fascinating to learn that 20km of sustainably sourced timber is wrapped around the building’s façade!
